About the event

Chicks with Chainsaws: 12-15 women participants will gather on the land to learn all about the use, safety and maintenance of chainsaws. Learn the safest, most effective ways to bring down trees of multiple sizes, cut up wood for fires and clear areas where you will build. Also gain insight about logging, lumber mills and more. Of course, safety first! Participate in the training with your own chainsaw or one provided through the iLOGIC Tool Library. You will be provided with safety gear, training materials and plenty of time for hands-on practice.

Brawny Broads builds the power, resilience, grit and grace of Black women who work the land — farmers, gardeners, ranchers, and earth stewards claiming their connection to nature and heritage.
